ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Multidisciplinary artist Tehya MacKenzie uses vintage photographs and tactile mediums like textile collage and freeform hand stitching to explore the raw, joyful, and often overwhelming realities of motherhood. Her pieces invite viewers into deeply personal moments that reflect universal truths about caregiving and resilience. Through her integration of photo transfers and embroidered details, Tehya transforms moments captured long ago into textured, layered narratives that celebrate the complexities of parenthood and identity.

Nishant Jain, aka The Sneaky Artist, offers a contrasting yet harmonious perspective, focusing on the quiet poetry of people within their environments. His mostly monochrome sketches capture fleeting, unguarded moments—figures waiting, walking, or lost in thought—without anchoring them to specific identities or stories. Instead, his art emphasizes the shared human context, where individuals become part of a broader tapestry of place and time. Jain’s minimalist approach invites viewers to reflect on how we move through and are shaped by the spaces we inhabit.
