A Fundraiser Presented by:
TROPA (Tropa da Solidariedade – NGO) was established in 2022 by Brazilian Rapper, Shackal and his wife, Vancouver local Lianna Walden, to help marginalized communities in Rio de Janeiro. TROPA created initiatives like “Feed the People”, “Education for the Children”, “Beautify the Neighborhoods” with art, light and gardens, which are making a huge difference in the quality of life for many who have had very little to look forward to.
Last year, in July, TROPA appeared with the Brazilian community in The Vancouver Pride Parade and then again at the Vancouver Mural Festival with “TROPAs Brazilian Take-over” to close out the festival. At the end of August TROPA also held a fundraiser event at Trout Lake where there was live music, dancing and performances.
This summer, TROPA is very excited to be making a musical appearance as performers at Basscoast Music Festival on July 12th and a Brazilian take over at the main stage of Vancouver Mural Festival August 11th.
In Rio de Janeiro, TROPA has been hosting a variety of fundraising events over the past few years including : art festivals, rap battles, outdoor music events, electronic music nights, street festivals and much more.
One thing they really know how to do in Brazil is to PARTY! Through music, art and dance, this is how TROPA can take you on a journey to experience the Brazilian Heat and learn about the TROPA cause.
TROPA invites you to embark on a journey, immersing yourself in the Brazilian Heat, and discover the purpose driving the TROPA movement.
The proceeds will be used to support TROPAs initiatives in Rio de Janeiro; costs for teachers and supplies for the children, complete the interior of the school by upgrading the bathroom, floors and adding a small kitchen, expand the school so we can add classes, like art, computer and cooking classes.
