Brian’s music spans many musical genres and his composing style has been shaped by a wide variety of influences. Growing up in a musical family, he studied clarinet with James Wegg, Nepean Symphony Orchestra’s Conductor.
Since then, he has expanded the list of instruments he plays to include guitar, string bass, drums, saxophone, piano as well as a full array of keyboards and samplers. From 1982-1986 Brian played guitar and wrote songs in various bands in and around Ottawa. His varied talents landed him a position as composer, audio-post engineer and producer for tv programs and commercials with Sound Venture Productions in Ottawa in 1986.
For the next three years he honed his skills until in 1990 he moved to Toronto where he was signed to Francis Davies, the famous music publisher. Moving to Vancouver in 1993, he continued composing for television, film and video games, producing music for EA, CBC, Discovery Channel, E! and Warner Bros. television.
In 2000, he and song writing partner Scott Arkwell aka Vinyl Ritchie were signed to Nettwerk Records with an international release under the band name Lester.
